Acknowledgement of Country

WAQK Women and Queers of Kink acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. We pay our respect to Elders past, present, and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We honor the deep cultural heritage, resilience, and enduring connection of First Nations communities to the land and waters on which we live, work, and play.

In recognition of the diversity within these communities, we also pay homage to the First Nations LGBTQIA+ community members, including sistergirls, brotherboys, and trans mob. We celebrate the strength, diversity, and vibrancy of communities across all bodies, genders, sexualities, and relationships, and acknowledge those who have worked tirelessly to support their peers and community.

WAQK is committed to inclusivity, respect, unity and understanding as we continue to share and grow together.
