WAQK is proud to announce that we will be working with the amazing Stella Topaz and Em at Abundant Body to present The Wheel of Consent ⭐
The Wheel of Consent® explores wants and desires, limits and boundaries, clear agreement-making, sensation, touch, and playfulness. It’s an embodied practice: learnt by practicing and experiencing it in your body, at your pace. The practices of the Wheel take apart ‘receiving’ and ‘giving’ to experience each separately, bringing more clarity, integrity and expansiveness to the dynamics of giving and receiving.
It's seemingly simple yet radically transformative!
The Wheel can influence so many interactions and dynamics; in intimate relationships, kink and play, in friendships and family, in workplaces, communities and social justice work.
⭐ABOUT THE WORKSHOP⭐
Come and join a bunch of queer kinksters to explore the Wheel of Consent!
We’ll guide you through some short practices to explore the Wheel, with time for talking as well as ‘doing’: it’s learnt best by experiencing! We go slow, there’s no rush, and choosing is at the centre of all activities. The core practices of the Wheel are based on exchanges of touch - and - can also be explored without touch. You choose.
There are many ways to participate, you can opt in or out of activities, work solo, or with others, or sit out to witness. We encourage you to notice your own needs and preferences and take care of yourself.
In this workshop, touch is non-s*xual. Separating 'touch' from 's*x' creates spaciousness to learn the framework of the Wheel, free of the ‘charge’ that s*x can bring. The Wheel can be a wonderful
influence in s*x and play; it’s just not the focus of this short workshop! We’ll talk more about this when we start the workshop.
We invite you to spend 4.5 hours exploring desire, curiosity, sensation, asking for what you want, saying and hearing authentic ‘yeses’ and ‘nos’, and making clear agreements. You can then choose principles and practices of the Wheel to bring into kink, play, s*x, and other dynamics.
Join us and be introduced to the Wheel of Consent® in a queer kink WAQK environment!
⭐WHO IS WELCOME? ⭐
This event is open to all those whose gender is, or has been, aligned with womanhood or female identity. No knowledge or experience of the Wheel is needed – and – if you have experience with the Wheel, you are welcome too!
